Trevor Phillips, the Government's controversial race relations chief, claimed hundreds of pounds of taxpayer's money 'entertaining' at luxury restaurants. He is even 'contractually' allowed to claim for parking fines - even if he was in the wrong. Mr Phillips, 56, who earns £112,000-a-year, paid a total of £6,395.66 on his Government Procurement Card between February 2008 and November last year. This included dining at the award-winning Cinnamon Club Indian restaurant in Westminster where he treated an American human rights official to a meal on the taxpayer. They ordered tandoori pigeon and John Dory and 'Bombay Street Food'. The meal was washed down with Bombay Sapphire gin, Absolut vodka and a £94 bottle of La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2003 wine.
