"Humans Mated with Neanderthals"

I was interested to read a scientific article yesterday on Spiegel Online, which made the claim that Northern Europeans may (have), 'mated' with Neanderthals which as a distinctly different species of hominid became 'extinct' 20,000 years ago.

I was also interested to see how Spiegel writer: Andrew Curran in Berlin (a distinctly English name), had saw fit to interpret this 'amazing discovery', as being what he described as a "blow to racists".

The article states:

By comparing the Neanderthal genome to modern human genes, the researchers say, it's possible to isolate the parts of our genetic code that makes humans human -- and tell once and for all whether humans and Neanderthals may once have mated. "Having a first version of the Neanderthal genome fulfils a long-standing dream," Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology Director Svante Pääbo said in an announcement. "For the first time now we can identify genetic features that set us apart from all other organisms, including our closest evolutionary relatives."

Quote again: "For the first time now we can identify genetic features that set us apart from all other organisms, including our closest evolutionary relatives."

What research shows is to me quite an obvious and natural thing of mating between species. After all, if you look at some artistic pictures of Neanderthals, then I guess in a dark tent on a dark night, if you happened to be a humpty back bell ringer type without a girlfriend, then a 'good looking' WHITE Neanderthal lady might just be exactly what you need.

From the limited amount of knowledge I have about Neanderthals = (0), then I would have thought happy Neanderthal types who knew how to love, make families, live in family units with a respect for each other and for their ancestors (according to anthropologists Neanderthals buried their dead), and a penchant for cooking and keeping a nice clean home, then I can't see there'd be any problem taking up with a Neanderthal albeit that a white wedding dress might be a bit of a tight fit for your good lady if it happened to be on rental.

So what is this reference to a "blow to racists"?

All this research has done, again with my limited knowledge of science = (0), has been to establish as  FACT, that white people are not only of a different 'race' but are (if research is true), of an entirely different species to Africans.

So I have a question:

Why, given that the science dictates "and this is why Europeans have been more successful", is it my 'species' being diluted and eradicated, when my 'species' or 'race', has been scientifically proven to have been more successful?

P.S. I'm not a racist but..............I am a 'specieist' who would like to get to the bottom of this question, to determine why my species is close to extinction just as Neanderthal man found out when accepting migrants from Africa into their Northern European homelands.

Anyone see similarities here or is it just me being 'racist', when I raise the topic of our certain extinction if immigration north is not stopped?
