Over 170 civil servants who earn more than the Prime Minister were named yesterday.
In total, they cost taxpayers in excess of £29million a year, according to details released as part of a new transparency drive by the Government. The Daily Mail says.
Cameron is obviously off on a crusade of jealousy over the 'chief executives' who earn more than him, and so wants the public to know what they earn so as to create public outrage.
But I can't see what their gripe is. Politicians created these positions so what are they carping about. They all sit on their fat arses taking taxpayers money whilst treating taxpayers like dirt so they need to be outed. Sacked. Closed down, and gotten rid of, and the MINISTERS who at least are elected, should be made to do their damn jobs! Quangos out - Commonsense in!
I notice Trevor Philips, chief Gestapo leader of the Equalities Commission is not mentioned in the Mails Black List, but maybe they didn't pick on him in case Philips took them to court 'cos ee iz black and bein discriminated against by da Mail'.
Look, there's a very serious problem in British society and it really is to do with these quango's.
When a non-elected official is given the job to head a quango, they have no attachment, no duty, no reason to answer, and no accountability to the public. The politicians become divorced from the public too as quango's make their decisions, and if the public don't like them, then it's tough.
But this is OUR country, and last time I looked it was England not pre-war Germany or post-war East Berlin.
We the people 'should' get a feeling for who we can blame when they screw up, and we should get a feeling whether we actually WANT things like an Equalities Commissioner taking a political party to court to get the party closed down because it happens to support its own people. Or, the people should be in a position to agree or disagree with a Director of Prosecutions, who may choose for instance to not prosecute an MP who stole the peoples money, or another MP who lied to parliament and then took this nation to war.
You see, when it is 'a decision made by an independent body for which I like you must wait for its decision', and that independent body - which happens to be politically controlled outside view of the public eye in any event - then it begs the question why we need politicians at all when we have faceless bureaucrats to do their jobs.
I say ALL quango's should go and politicians should fill their places so we the people can rap their knuckles when they make decisions which they deem to be not in the public interest but clearly are where we are concerned.
